Join us for a Fireside Chat with Astronaut, Engineer, Entrepreneur, and Philanthropist Sara Sabry, the first Egyptian, and first Arab and African woman in Space. She will talk about her journey, how one can use the difficulty to their advantage, as well as the power of visualization.
Sara is an Egyptian-Lebanese mechanical and biomedical engineer, and currently a PhD student in Aerospace working at the UND NASA-funded lab. She founded and serves as CEO of Deep Space Initiative (DSI), a nonprofit which aims to increase accessibility to space by providing opportunities in education and research. After being selected to the Citizen Astronaut program, Sara experienced the Overview Effect after going to space on Blue Origin’s New Shepard NS-22 flight, and has since been constantly incorporating that new found perspective into social impact projects that relate to the future of humans in space, education, and climate change solutions for Earth.
